Easy to arrive to by TRAIN : 

The AMTRACK Downeaster from Boston arrives twice  a day and is a short walk to either property .  Concord Trailways from Portland and  the airport is also there. 

Quick and easy drive :

Just an hour north of State Line of New Hamshire and 3 hrs. to the Canadian Border.  You can also sail to Nova Scotia on the Cat from Portland.

You can bike ride to Rachel Carson Preserve Area or Pine Point both are about 4 miles away from houses.  Fresh seafood restaurants abound and a Maine lobster feed is a must to enjoy during your stay. Night life is available in Old Orchard Beach and a short walk away.  You can get out in the ocean on a fishing vessel or rent a kayac and go solo.  Acitivities are endless.

Stratton/Sugarloaf  or Old Orchard Beach cottages can be  attached to days  with other properties for a broader visit in Maine and with a pleasant drive from the sea to the mountains.
